Chino Latino Lettuce Wraps

Delicious and full of flavor, Chino Latino Lettuce Wraps are a great idea for entertaining or a light tasty meal. You will enjoy the combination of crisp lettuce with the warm flavorful filling, a restaurant quality treat you can enjoy at home.



Ingredients

1 package Nueva Cocina® Picadillo Seasoning Mix
1-1.25 lb. ground lean ground beef or turkey (tofu or other meat substitute may be used)
1 eight-ounce can tomato sauce
1 can water chestnuts (6 oz.) sliced
1 cup sliced black or shitake mushrooms
1 small red bell pepper julienned
½ cup sliced green onions
1 head lettuce, iceberg, Romaine or other           
1 package crispy rice noodles

Directions

Prepare ground beef or turkey according to Nueva Cocina® seasoning packet directions.  Remove from heat.
Add sliced water chestnuts, sliced mushrooms, and red bell pepper. Cook for one minute.    Remove from heat.
Wash lettuce. Separate leaves. Pat dry. 
Place a small amount of rice noodles in each lettuce leaf, follow with a scoop of cooked beef or turkey mixture. 
Garnish with bits of sliced mushroom, julienne pepper strips and sliced green onion.
